The narrows
The tightest section of the canyon, where the road and river share the gorge floor between sheer walls.

Southern Morocco · High Atlas canyon
Three hundred metres of vertical limestone, and a river at your feet.
Why travellers come
Todra Gorge narrows to a corridor barely ten metres wide with walls rising some 300 metres on either side. A shallow river runs through it, and the temperature drops noticeably as you walk in.
It sits above the palm oasis town of Tinghir, on the road between Dades and the desert, and takes about an hour to enjoy properly on foot.
It is the most dramatic canyon on the desert road, and one of the few places on the route where you get out and walk.
